Green revolution in baby bedding products

Sustainable or commonly known as green clothing has become a norm of the day. It is also ruling the fashion world today. Even manufacturers and brands from various industries have begun adapting the green branding measures to add that extra edge to the products. With the increasing awareness among the consumers about importance of organic or sustainable clothing, has made them look at the products they buy differently.

Baby products are left behind in following the organic clothing. Since newborns spend most of their time sleeping and lying down on the bed, it becomes necessary to choose a baby bedding that does not irritate its skin and makes him/her feel comfortable all the time. Which is why, organic cotton is the most preferred choice for baby bedding and clothing used to attend to a baby's needs. But what makes these baby bedding sheets or clothes different from the other types of fabric? What makes organic cotton baby bedding so special?

The major difference between the normal and organic cotton is the use of chemicals in it. Organic cotton is not grown and treated into a fabric with the use of chemicals whereas in ordinary cotton, chemicals are used while growing the cotton crop to treating it to convert into a fabric.

Organic way of living has entered into the societies with all products from daily meals to vehicles following the suit. So no wonder, organic cotton baby bedding has become a must for a small baby. Especially when it comes to baby bedding sheets and other necessary things made of cloth are made of 100% organic cotton to ensure baby's well-being. It is noticed that non-organic baby bedding materials are coated with chemicals for a wrinkle-free effect and since babies spend most of their time sleeping on these sheets, they come in contact with chemical properties causing irritation, allergies and head-aches and breathing problems among babies as well as the grown ups.

New kind of chemical free, organic natural fibers are also being used in baby bedding material, these are either made out of bamboo or woolen fiber, though organic cotton remains the preferred choice. Bamboo fiber alone is difficult to be converted into fabrics so it is blended with organic cotton. However, it remains purely organic when blended with organic cotton, once it is used to create fabric with rayon or other such artificial fibers for baby bedding, it no longer remains organic.

Woolen fabric is also commonly used for baby clothing and baby bedding material. Wool is organic and naturally fire retardant and does cause infection or irritation to baby's skin. Use of organic cloth for baby bedding creates a safe and healthy atmosphere around the baby.

While organic baby bedding products are easily available in the market today, it is necessary to check whether the baby bedding products you plan to purchase are actually made of organic fabrics. Choose products that have a quality mark issues by an authentic organic clothing body or association, so that you are not left with any doubt in mind.
